A flexible timetable for our PHP and MySQL course

Our Web Development with PHP and MySQL course will start on Monday 31 August 2009 and will run over five consecutive Mondays (31 August, 7, 14, 21 and 28 September.) The topics which are going to be covered are:

  • Developing semantic W3C compliant web pages
  • Using a CSS Framework
  • Using the PHP Programming Language
  • Using templates and filters in PHP
  • Using MySQL

New schedule for our Web Development with PHP and MySQL course

Since Knowledge Seven was created, our training courses have always been run over five full consecutive days (Monday to Friday.) The main reason being that I think that immersion is very important to properly acquire a new skill. It is also true that since the beginning, a number of employers have been telling me that sending their employees to us during five consecutive days is hard as, well, they need them at work.

Object-Oriented Programming in Java course starting on 13 July 2009

We're delighted to announce the imminent start of our Object-Oriented Programming in Java course on 13 July 2009. The course is, of course, MQA-approved.

Linux Level 1 course starting on 11 May 2009

I am happy to announce that we will start a Linux Level 1 training course on Monday 11 May 2009 (in a little more than one week from now.)

As written above, the course is MQA-approved, runs over five full days (Monday 11 May to Friday 14 May 2009) in our training center in Quatre-Bornes and costs Rs. 15,000 per participant. Of course, those who are eligible can have refunds from the HRDC.

Object-Oriented Programming in Java course starting on 20 April 2009

We're delighted to announce our first Object-Oriented Programming in Java course starting on 20 April 2009. The course is MQA-approved.

Topics to be covered include many important features of the Java programming language, Object-Oriented Design and Programming as well as advanced aspects of Java like Generics and Concurrency.

Some feedback on our Linux Level 1 and Level 2 courses

We organised a Linux Level 1 course designed for beginners in February. The topics covered were Linux installation, package management using RPM, the command line, pipes and filters, regular expressions, vi, users, permissions, filesystems, quotas, process management, TCP/IP, the X-Window system, remote desktop access, etc.

I was fortunate to have a group of highly motivated trainees with a keen interest to learn.

Linux Level 1 is done and Level 2 starts next week

Last week was an important week for Knowledge Seven Ltd as we had our first ever Linux course, Linux Level 1.

During the five days, Karen, Nasser, Wassim, Gilbert, Jino, Pascal and Atish (who are all employed in prominent firms) were exposed to a number of important topics including Linux installation, the command line, package management, permissions, file-systems, TCP/IP and the X-Window system.

Our Linux courses are fully MQA approved

After a few weeks of patience, I can proudly tell you that Knowledge Seven Ltd is finally fully Mauritius Qualifications Authority (MQA) approved.

Specifically,

  • Our Training Institution is MQA approved
  • Our Manager is MQA approved (Jaynarain Meetoo)
  • Our Programme Officer is MQA approved (Avinash Meetoo)
  • Our Trainer is MQA approved (Avinash Meetoo)

Linux training courses postponed by two weeks

I am happy to tell you we are organising our first two Linux training courses in the coming weeks:

  • Linux Level 1 is aimed at beginners and will start on Monday 16 February 2009.
  • Linux Level 2 is aimed at those having followed Linux Level 1 or for those having prior Linux experience and will start on Monday 2 March 2009.
